Twelve cylinders in a compact spine
For 1967 Ferrari revised the 312 around a longitudinal 60-degree V12 and a narrow monocoque. Mauro Forghieri pursued cleaner bodywork and a more compact package while the exposed suspension, intake trumpets and exhausts reveal how directly the car translated mechanical function into form.
A beautiful car in a difficult season
Chris Amon scored four podiums and finished fourth in the 1967 Drivers' standings, but Ferrari's campaign was overshadowed by Lorenzo Bandini's fatal Monaco accident. The 312 F1-67 remains an important bridge between the early three-litre cars and Ferrari's later flat-twelve generation.
