Valencia's harbour street circuit was created around the America's Cup marina and hosted the European Grand Prix from 2008 to 2012. Bridges, concrete walls and repeated slow corners defined a layout that disappeared when the event became financially unsustainable.
The 2012 farewell became its classic race. Fernando Alonso won emotionally from 11th on the grid after overtaking and retirements reshaped the order, sharing the podium with Kimi Räikkönen and Michael Schumacher.
Across 5.419 km, its 25 corners create a distinct rhythm between braking, precision and acceleration. As a street circuit, it asks drivers and teams to adapt setup, tyre management and race strategy to the venue's particular constraints, while its clockwise direction shapes the sequence of its most demanding sectors.
