The F1-75 interpreted the new floor tunnels through a distinctive body shape whose hollowed sidepods guided flow towards the rear. Strong mechanical traction and an effective power unit made the car especially quick at the start of the season.

Charles Leclerc won two of the first three races and Ferrari returned to the centre of the title fight. Reliability failures, strategic errors and tyre-management difficulties prevented the early promise from becoming a championship.
